Meet Amber Robinson: First Recipient of the David Bell Memorial Fund

Earlier in the year, we were lucky enough to meet Amber Robinson, the first extremely talented grant recipient from the David Bell Memorial Fund.

Amber is currently half way through a full time two year Master of Arts degree at the Princes School of Traditional Arts. The course teaches traditional arts and crafts skills such as miniature painting, calligraphy and geometry.

Amber’s area of interest is pattern design and the Prince’s School course is enabling her to study geometry and its application in the production of works of art. She aims to invigorate skills and techniques that are arguably disappearing from the contemporary arts to bring them to a new audience.

Upon completion of the course, Amber would like to work professionally in the arts and crafts sector, ideally producing designs for textiles and wall furnishings with an emphasis on traditional and historical design.

Without the support from the DBMF, Amber might not have been able to pursue her studies. We’re sure you will join us here at NADFAS to wish her the very best in her studies and future career. To keep up to date with Amber and her work, you can see her blog here: www.byambr.com
