Please read the following carefully as it will help you understand our organisation, its aims, and how we select accredited lecturers.
Founded almost 50 years ago, the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts (NADFAS) aims to provide education opportunities in the arts through lectures and study days, and to help conserve our heritage through our volunteers. There are over 400 Societies throughout the UK, Europe, and New Zealand, and a sister association in Australia. Societies have their own annual programme of lectures, study days, visits and tours, selecting their lecturers from the Directory of Lecturers, a compilation of NADFAS's accredited lecturers.
We can only select lecturers who speak on the arts as defined as follows: "The study of the history, social history, techniques and materials, design and manufacture and collections of: architecture, archaeology, painting, prints, sculpture, textiles, furniture, furnishings, costume, glass and ceramics, enamel, metalwork, garden design and installation art; as well as the lives and influences of the artists, architects, craftsmen and patrons involved. Music, dance, theatre and literature can also play an important part in illustrating art."
Before completing and submitting this form, it is essential that you visit a NADFAS Society (unless you are already a member) in order to better understand our Societies and their audiences.
